Do Not Fear Success

Some people fear success just as much as others fear failure. As weird as it sounds, it’s true. If you allow fear to stop you, I have some great words of encouragement for you today.

First, allow yourself to succeed. Stop thinking about all the times you’ve failed in the past. That’s in the past. Allow yourself to live in the here and now.

Living in the past only does one thing—keeps you there. Do you really want to stay stuck in the drama of last month, last year, ten years ago? I doubt it.

Second, claim what is rightfully yours. Success belongs to each and every one of us. We all deserve to succeed. So step up and claim that right today.

Next, plan to succeed. Surprisingly, a large number of people never plan to succeed. They build backup plans, in case of failure, but never create a plan for success. Ask yourself, “What if I succeed? Then what?” Plan for your success.
Finally, act as if. What would you be doing, where would you be, if you were already successful? How would you be living? What would success look and feel like? Envision this and imagine what it would feel like. This will carry through the rough patches when you feel like you can’t go on anymore.

Success is possible, even though you might be afraid of it. Instead of running away from it, run towards success. Claim it as your own.

Keep Your Focus

Keep your focus: If you are working on a project and find your mind wondering to other things you want to do instead, count to 10 and repeat to yourself . . .

I am focused on what I am doing

I can finish what I start

I am ready to do this project and will work until I am done.

Sometimes it can be hard to stay focused on the final results and you will need to remind yourself why you started this project in the first place. Keep with it and don’t let your mind wander. If you need to, take a five minute break, but get right back to it. Remember your goal and keep yourself psyched up to keep it going.

You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.

How to Overcome Your Fear of Failure

Are you afraid of failure? Do you often wish you had the courage to go for your dreams or desires? I am going to give you some simple tips you can use to start overcoming your fear of failure.

Take charge of the situation. First and foremost, you must be in control. You should never let any situation control you. Stand up for yourself. Be assertive. When you are in control, nothing and nobody can cause you to fail.

Forget about failing. If you’re one of those people who tend think about failing all the time, guess what? You will fail! I’m sure you’ve heard that saying, “You are what you eat.” Well, the same applies here. You are what you think. Focus on success, not failure.

Divert your attention elsewhere. When you get lost in that moment of feeling that dreadful fear, what do you do? Do you stand in it, allowing it to totally consume your mind and actions? Stop doing that! When you begin to think about failing and feel that fear coming upon you, tell yourself to stop and start thinking about something more pleasant.

Practice in private. One reason why so many people can’t seem to be successful at anything is because they haven’t practiced it. This may sound weird to you, but you should really give it a try. How would you feel if you were successful? What would you be doing? Practice these things in private. Pretend as if you have already achieved what you’re working towards. This combats fear of failure faster than anything.

Stop Complaining

Stop complaining. If you complain or see the negative side of everything, you will find it almost impossible to be happy or enjoy every day life. People don’t want to hang out with anyone that complains all the time. Most people are only interested in themselves and could care less about your problems.

Focus on others and they will want to be with you and make your life more enjoyable.

5 Other Ways to Stop Procrastination

To add on to the previous post, Here are 5 other easy ways to stop procrastination dead in its tracks.

#1 – Stop trying to do too much. Taking on too many responsibilities will only lead to your demise. So stop trying to be everything to everyone and doing everything all the time. It just isn’t worth it.

#2 – Don’t put off for tomorrow what can be done today. If you know that there is something within your power to complete today, then why wait another day? Get it done, and do it now.

#3 – Enlist help. There are times when you know you’ve taken on more than you can handle. When this happens, stop and delegate some of your responsibilities out to others. This doesn’t mean that you aren’t capable. It just means that you are being wise with your time and resources.

#4 – Get the worst thing done first. There is always a lurking task that you dread. Take that dreaded thing and put it at the top of your list. Get it done first thing and you’ll feel so relieved once the task is completed. It will also propel you to keep moving to finish the remaining tasks for the day.

#5 – Get your priorities in order. When your priorities are out of whack, your entire life will become unbalanced and unstable. Sit down and determine what your main priorities are. Make a list of your top five priorities. Then live according to this list. When your priorities are in order, you’ll be less likely to procrastinate.

How to Overcome Procrastination

Procrastination—oh, it’s a dirty, bad little booger, isn’t it? Yet somehow it manages to sneak up on all of us at some point. So how do you overcome procrastination? I have some great tips to share with you.

Procrastination Slayer #1: Plan ahead.
One of the best ways to combat procrastination is to plan ahead. When you have a timeline laid out for yourself, the chances of you putting off doing what needs to be done will greatly decrease.

Procrastination Slayer #2: Plan thoroughly.
In addition to planning ahead, you should meticulously plan ahead. Create a step-by-step or numbered plan that includes every single detail. This way, you won’t have any excuses for procrastinating.

Procrastination Slayer #3: Don’t make excuses.
The greatest enabler of procrastination is excuses. Those who put off doing things often do so with a ton of excuses why they can’t or shouldn’t. Stop allowing yourself to make excuses for your inaction.

Procrastination Slayer #4: Do the “nasty” stuff first.
If your greatest reason for procrastination is that you hate doing mundane or boring tasks, and then do those things first. By getting the “nasty” stuff out of the way early, you’ll be less likely to procrastinate.

Procrastination Slayer #5: Forget about being perfect.
Many people say that their issues with perfectionism stop them in their tracks and cause them to procrastinate. If this describes you, then you need to actively forget about being perfect. Focus instead on completing the task, rather than getting it perfect.

How to Find Happiness

Happiness seems to be elusive to many people. But why? I want to talk to you for a few minutes about happiness; what it is, and how to find it.

Happiness, according to many people, is having all the money in the world. Most think, “If I just had a million dollars…all my bills would be paid and I’d be so much happier.” That’s simply not true.

Happiness is defined as a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Happiness comes from within you, not what you have or don’t have.

The problem is that many people focus only on the external things. They look to possessions to make them happy and give them that sense of fulfillment. But external happiness is elusive at best and fades quickly.

True and utter happiness lies within you. And let me tell you: If you are not happy with yourself, you’ll never be happy with all the money and possessions this world holds. None of it will ever bring you happiness if you aren’t content.

Contentment, or the position of being at one with your life and your current status, is the only way you’ll find true happiness. When you can be happy with the two pennies you have to barely rub together, you will finally know true happiness. When you are content with the nearly thread-bare clothes you’re wearing because you can’t afford to buy new clothes, you will understand the true meaning of happiness.

If you are struggling to find happiness, start by giving away a lot of the things that you’ve bought or acquired that you thought would make you happy. Do something nice for someone else. Give of yourself until it hurts.

Find something you love and are passionate about and throw yourself into it whole-heartedly. Chances are it will be in those moments of selfless bliss that you’ll finally experience true happiness.

Healthy Positive Thoughts

You are what you think about. If you think about negative thoughts and see yourself as not successful your mind will deliver on your thoughts. If you see yourself as happy, positive and financially secure, your mind will deliver it to you. If you think you are unhealthy and have low self esteem you mind will deliver it to you. If you think you are healthy and self confident your mind will deliver.

Your subconscious mind does not rationalize. It only gives you what you spend most of your time thinking about. You need to put all your focus on happy, positive thoughts and visualize only success and health in order for your mind to direct you to what is needed to achieve it. Whatever you think will be in direct proportion to what you have as far as your health, happiness, success, satisfaction, productivity and fulfillment in life!

Be sure to maintain healthy positive thoughts and your life will be wonderful and fulfilling.

Today’s Quote:

A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in ourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.

Time Management Tools For Everyday Life

Have you fallen into the trap of trying to do too many things at once, thinking that this will help you get more accomplished in a shorter amount of time? Studies prove that multi-tasking actually requires more time and effort on your part, than doing one thing at a time.

If you’re struggling to find enough time in each day to do what needs to be done, here are some simple time management tools you can use:

  • Stay focused and in the moment. Attempting to overload yourself with multiple tasks at once will drain you and create stress. Instead, stay focused. Concentrate on completing one task at a time. Once you’ve finished one, then move on to the next. Staying present in the moment will help you get more done quickly.
  • Make a To Do list. Start each day by writing down a list of what you need to accomplish during that day. Only include the most important things. Leave off unnecessary tasks that don’t amount to much. You’ll save time and energy.
  • Delegate to family or friends. Dole out responsibilities to those who are capable of helping you out. It is not wise or admirable to attempt to do everything on your own. Ask for help. Call a trusted friend and switch out car pools for the kids’ activities. Create a household chore chart and assign certain tasks to your children and spouse to help out with.
  • Plan wisely. Most people lose track of time because they have failed to properly plan their day. Keep a notebook or small planner handy for the entire family to use for schedules. Don’t overbook yourself and don’t double-book yourself.

The Magic 3 of Setting Goals

Are you a planner? Do you like to set goals? If not, you should start setting goals today. Setting goals helps you create an easier path to success or completion. I’m going to show you three things you should do when setting your goals and three things you should avoid.

To Do:

  1. Plan smart. Don’t set unrealistic goals. It’s highly improbable that you will lose 50 pounds in 3 weeks. Instead, set a realistic goal to exercise daily, change your eating habits and practice positive thinking.
  2. Think long-term. One thing people tend to do when they set goals is to think too short-term. Short-term goals are great, but they serve a totally different purpose from long-term goals. Long-term goals tell you what you want (the end result). Short-term goals are the vehicles that carry you there.
  3. Create your back-up plan. No goal should be without a solid back-up plan. Ever heard the phrase “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”? What happens if something unexpected occurs? Do you have a plan to compensate for that?

To Avoid:

  1. The procrastination trap. Everybody gets sidetracked sometimes. Just don’t allow that to lead into procrastination, which is the biggest time thief of all times. Stay on track.
  2. Sketchy details. Know what you want and it won’t be hard to get it. Set solid, descriptive, bold goals in great detail.
  3. Selling yourself short. Don’t think that your goal is so lofty that you can’t reach it. If you set a reasonable goal, even if it takes you some time to get there, think of all the progress and personal growth you will experience.
