Law of Attraction Explained

Posted by: ChargedAudio | Comments (0)

You have probably heard about the law of attraction and perhaps even how knowing it can change your life. But what exactly is the law of attraction?

The most basic premise behind the law of attraction is that like attracts like. It is the same way that a magnet’s opposite poles attract. But while opposites attract in the case of magnet poles, like attracts like in the universe in general.

In simple human context, people attract like people, situations, and everything that surrounds their lives right now. If you think negatively, you attract negativity and bad situations. But if you think positively, you attract positivity. And with regards to relationships and friendships, as the saying goes, birds of the same feather usually flock together – another illustration of like attracting like.

So at the most basic level in people’s lives, like thoughts attract like thoughts. Have you noticed that when you start thinking about bad things and feeling bad about them, thoughts supporting those bad thoughts and even thoughts of other similar bad things suddenly come to your mind? Later on, these thoughts become reality because you attracted them.

Be careful with your thoughts, as they most likely will manifest into reality through the law of attraction. And, it is worth noting that the law of attraction applies to everyone, no exceptions. It is very much like other laws in physics – for instance gravity.

Of course there is also intensity here in the equation – the more intense your thoughts and feelings, the more powerful the manifestations you attract. Let’s say from a scale 1 of 10 your negative thoughts score around 2 in intensity – you will then attract similar thoughts and situations corresponding to that intensity. So if your intensity is 10, watch out!

In sum, the law of attraction shows that like attracts like – in practical terms, you can attract like thoughts and situations based on what is in your mind.

Charisma is a word that even Mr. Webster would have problems accurately defining. Charisma, in fact, is an abstract concept that people would understand better when they experience its powerful effect. It is something that you wouldn’t learn when taking business courses. Charisma is something you have to personally experience and develop; and this article’s going to help you achieve it.

Charisma can truly help you become a consummate professional – one who’s able to meet tasks with aplomb, make speeches with confidence, and deal with clients in a charming, influencing manner. If you wish to become the consummate professional yourself through charisma, it’s imperative that you do not delay and follow these tips immediately!

MAKING A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION

Usually, an individual finds himself content by simply making a good expression. Such a bland lackluster goal, however, would never do for a charismatic person. A person with charisma would always make a great first impression on whomever he meets. His ability to create such an impact is due to his intense awareness of the fact that first impressions last.

Here are some ways to put your charisma to work and make a great first expression.

Always have a ready smile. A smile will never fail in brightening a person’s day. Today, most people find it even difficult to come up with the effort of smiling, especially when it’s for the benefit of a mere stranger. But you’re not going to make the same mistake, right? So smile!

Establish eye contact. A person who is always able to meet others in the eye is one person that no one would hesitate to respect, follow, and trust. Establishing eye contact is one way of telling people that you know who you are and you’re not afraid to show it.

Always carry yourself with the right amount of dignity and confidence. While a charismatic person never fails to exude confidence, he doesn’t come across as extremely conceited or arrogant. He simply knows what he’s doing and that’s what draws other people to him!

SHOWING GENUINE INTEREST IN OTHERS

A charismatic person doesn’t operate in a purely “Me, Myself, and I” fashion. A charismatic individual is in fact usually more interested in what YOU have to say than anything else. He makes other people feel that he’s genuinely interested in their opinions. He is a good listener because he knows instinctively when it’s the best time to stop talking and simply listen.

One good reason why individuals fall in the charismatic stakes is their inability to appreciate the people they’re talking to. The moment you start believing that the person you’re talking to has nothing to contribute is also the moment you’ve ceased becoming charismatic; you need an urgent appointment with Emily Post.

KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN.

Charismatic individuals always know the importance of having fun. When an individual starts taking himself too seriously, sooner or later, he’d be unable to appreciate jokes made at his expense and he would become ill-equipped to handle any kind of criticism, even one that’s made with good intentions.

ACT SMART.

Lastly, don’t be a know-it-all. Whenever you make a speech, be sure that you talk about something you’re knowledgeable of. Don’t pretend having expertise in a certain area, as that would just lessen your credibility. A charismatic person is one that can influence others. Who wants to be influenced by one whose ignorance is deeply obvious?

What does it mean to be assertive? What can you learn about assertiveness by being with lawyers?

This article tries to relate the competency that is assertiveness with lawyers. What about lawyers? You might know people who are lawyers or studying law. You would notice the audacity of these people and how brilliantly they portray every single word that comes out of their mouths as the truth.

When someone is taking up law, or is a lawyer, one important thing that he needs to be able to survive in the courtroom is assertiveness.

What exactly is assertiveness? What differentiates it from being aggressive and from being passive? For one, a person who is assertive views and projects everything towards the positive. Assertiveness is putting something into positive terms and projecting it as if it was nothing but the truth, backed by evidence. Aggressiveness is being tactlessly bold and audacious, while assertiveness is being audacious with suave and finesse.

Lawyers need to deal with a whole lot of people. They have to deal with their clients; and depending on whose side they are on, they will make their statements as close to the truth as they can without letting others know that they are merely repacking something up, which would clearly pass as a lie if not delivered properly.

Lawyers need to communicate well with the jury and with the presiding judge. Talking about law is not something that an ordinary man can blabber about without looking stupid. Law has its boundaries, and lawyers need to play within these boundaries.

Given a certain amount of space to deal with, lawyers need to compress their statements in a way that each word they say projects the bigger statement that they are saying to the audience. The speech battles between lawyers can be so intense that the people watching are stunned as if they are watching a long rally in a world tennis championship.

Lawyers need to speak in a manner that projects the truth and without outrageously insulting other people, for they can be warned or punished by the judge. Lawyers need to speak in an assertive but careful manner as if it was a science. They employ selective speech that leads conversations towards the way that they want them to. This is why two opposing lawyers can never really have a decent conversation inside the courtroom, for they will always be engaged in a tug-of-war speech battle.

What can we learn from lawyers? Lawyers speak a language that is complemented by body language. This embodies assertiveness. Words are to be spoken in an assertive yet careful manner for them to retain their integrity and spur no doubts. Assertiveness plays around the unconscious mind. When you speak assertively to another, you will get the message across to the other individual without him taking much notice.

Lawyers are a great group to learn from about assertiveness. No decent lawyer will ever win one single case unless he is assertive. The battles in the courtroom are not just about facts and figures, but also about poise and tact. The courtroom itself is a channel for knowing the truth, and the truth are the words that are spoken by the lawyer who is more assertive.

Some people find it easy to attain happiness in life. What most people find difficult is to sustain happiness.

Happiness and fulfillment are some of the feelings you experience when you achieve your goals in life. People’s goals vary.

No matter how varied goals are, these fit into one of two power categories: the power to set your goals into action and the power to keep out forces that thwart your goals. You will need sets of goals to survive in the real world.

You can work on goals through effective action. You have to identify what you want out of life; and from there, you can start setting your goal. Persuade yourself that you can reach your goal.

One effective strategy in setting goals is to get inspiration. Find something to inspire you and ignite a fire in you. This will get your wheel of goal setting on track. To do this, lay out a plan, and have a definite idea to what you want to achieve. Set reasonable and workable time charts.

Once you have started, be on guard of the rewards you have gained along the way. The predators out there are going to pick you clean if you are not wary of their presence. Their presence may be difficult to detect because they come in all forms of disguises.

Not everyone can be trusted. Consequently, questions like the following pop out:

Whom must I trust?

Who is telling the truth?

How do I know that what I see is what it is?

The answers are varied. Some require experience to detect whom to trust. For now, what is important is the awareness of these questions.

However, some people have moved to the extreme side of the scale by exclusively focusing only on shielding themselves from others. They always think suspiciously of others that they have totally forgotten about setting their goals in life.

Being on guard is okay but doing this solely will stop you from moving on with your life. You must also keep an eye on the progress of the goals you set yourself to achieve. Staying on guard will only get you nowhere.

“Life is like a ball game.” Focusing solely on defense without concern on offense will not score anything on your board of achievements. Keep one hand on defense, while you aim the other to score. This way, you are assured of winning the game of life.

All of these may lead you to ask: “Why can’t life exist without all this peskiness?” From these, we learn a precious lesson on vigilance, which sets you up in becoming stronger as you set sights on sustainable happiness.

Sustaining happiness can be a journey in itself. The journey is made complete by setting a goal, staying on the right track, and being on guard. This way, you stay alert and never experience a dull moment.

Indeed, life is designed this way to make it more exciting!

Living In Abundance

Posted by: ChargedAudio | Comments (0)

Abundance literally means having great or large quantity, as opposed to scarcity or that condition of having too little. It can mean abundance in a variety of areas like financial abundance or emotional abundance.

There are people who may have just about everything money can buy, but they do not have abundance. Blame it on attitude and a mindset that tends to throw away what is in abundance.

While money is one manifestation of abundance, there are other areas through which abundance can be seen and measured, like good health, peace of mind, mental clarity, and a strong spiritual belief and purpose.

Most people want to bring in more financial abundance in their lives although this type of abundance may be one of the most difficult to achieve. However, giving in to feelings of helplessness in attracting financial abundance may just lead to lesser financial abundance. It is important to create and maintain a mindset that is both positive and determined.

When one is bombarded with financial problems, he spends a lot of time thinking about how and where to get the money, instead of planning on how to spend money wisely. If money is in scarcity and not in abundance, then a person should instead focus on what he can achieve and how many people he can help if he has money.  Worrying about money can get you nowhere and definitely, it cannot get you more money.

Possessing abundance in terms of emotions means one is really fully human, capable of feeling love, joy, hatred and other emotions that humans normally feel. A person who has emotional abundance should not be feeling greater than the others, but such person should have more feelings of sympathy, generosity, love and other emotions that make one fully human.

Being in a state of emotional abundance means being able to possess emotions that bring about a balance in one’s humanity. It means more sympathy than apathy, more tolerant of what others may be feeling in certain circumstances. An emotionally abundant person will have more space in his heart to accept the shortcomings of other people.

Physical abundance means being healthy, robust, and possesses a body that is always attuned to the demands of nature. It means being able to heal the body when it is confronted with sickness or other physical challenges.

There are people who choose to have emotional abundance.  Others choose physical abundance so they will be capable of facing life’s daily challenges. However, there are people who would always welcome financial abundance, not for anything else, but merely because of acute scarcity in this area. Some people may say money is not everything; but try to live for a month without money to buy your food and roof above your head and you will surely sing a different tune after that.

Understandably, most people have money problems and this creates anxiety and panic. There are even people who feel anxious, even though they possess enough financial resources.

Every person has enough abundance in life; some have financial, health, or emotional abundance. Whatever it is you possess, you just have to learn to appreciate it and use it wisely. It is really a matter of being positive in every way, and in being determined of what one wants in life. It is really a matter of choosing to live a life in abundance, despite the scarcity of some, or most of life’s pleasures.

A simple, effective way to promote people focuses on two main aspects. Are they able to do the work required? Are they willing to do the work?

There are four possible combinations of staff attitude and ability. The willing and able person is the only one that the employer or the manager should consider for promotion.

At the other extreme, somebody who is neither able nor willing has no place in the organization, let alone the promotion ladder.

The people in-between, who are lacking in either motivation or ability, pose the real challenge to their managers. Motivating an unmotivated person is far more difficult than training a willing individual to perform better.

The prospect of promotion, however, may push the unwilling person into trying harder.

However, there are many instances wherein some people are appropriate for promotion but are not being recognized by the company.

If you were in this kind of situation, what would you do? Will you choose not to do anything and wait for your chance of being promoted? Or will you be assertive enough and earn the kind of promotion you truly deserve?

In the corporate world, assertiveness is required for people who wish to seek career growth. It is differentiated from aggressiveness in the sense that aggressiveness tends to create people who will defend themselves and fight for their rights in an unpleasing manner. In this way, the aggressive person tends to lose respect and reverence to authority.

On the contrary, assertiveness is more like a communication development. You try to win your side by asking for the right deal on the right approach. Being assertive would simply mean getting what you deserve and still maintain that certain level of respect to your superiors.

With assertion, you try to speak up what you think is right. You try to explain what you think you deserve and live up to what the company would still want from you as an employee.

Assertiveness can create signals to your employer that you will and can do the new job fit for your capabilities and skills. Through assertiveness, you can let your employer know that you are the type of employee who shows the standard behavior that he should always expect in a candidate for promotion.

Assertiveness can provide an individual new ways in getting the right and appropriate promotion. Being assertive would imply suggestion schemes that would make the employer feel that the employee is in partnership with him and the company.

The point here is to be recognized by the company. If no one seems to notice your positive developments towards your work and your relationship with the other people in the company, it is high time you let them know.

Besides, your achievements are something you have worked hard for. Hence, you deserve to be recognized for any positive developments you have accomplished.

In a big company, it is sometimes hard to manage and keep track every activity of each employee. There are many instances wherein the company cannot instantly detect problems or developments within the area.

Sad to say, these includes those people who should deserve to be recognized but were not yet acknowledged simply because no one knows their achievements. Therefore, the best way to earn a well-deserved promotion is to be assertive and aim for recognition.

It is best to inform the company about the developments of the company through the employee’s effort.

Let your bosses know why you deserve to be promoted, and you will have greater chances of earning the promotion that you ought to have.

The Many Faces of Happiness

Posted by: ChargedAudio | Comments (0)

What is happiness? Is it the absence of tears, abundance of smiles, or love, love, love? Can happiness even be defined?

The main fault of those who try to define happiness is that they end up with a circular definition. Often, happiness is defined as a state in which a human being is content because the person has received something good. But what is that “something good?” The definition comes back full circle: it is something that makes the person happy.

To define happiness, one would need to describe it in terms of the way different societies, religions, or individuals have done. The concept of happiness began with the Greeks, who defined happiness as a life filled with reason and virtue – the so-called eudaimonia, or the state of being “well-souled.”

This definition of happiness, however, has veered away from defining the state of the person during one point in time, to a holistic approach that defines a person as a product of his or her past, and happiness as the product of many emotions and achievements. This is particularly prevalent in North America, where happiness is equated with the so-called “American Dream”: a successful, healthy family; more monetary wealth than can be calculated or known; beauty from the cradle to the coffin; and unflinching, unending wit and intelligence.

Not all families are successful – and the definition of success can vary from person to person, and culture to culture. Money cannot buy everything – and having too much of it can be the source of problems. Beauty, as the adage goes, is in the eye of the beholder. Wit and intelligence, moreover, can be, in some degrees, feeble, and in others, annoying.

So where is the happiness in all this? Is the American Dream really the embodiment of happiness?

More recent writers correlate authentic happiness with the marriage of positive emotions to positive activities. Positive emotions may arise because of something remembered in the past: contentment at having come so far, after so much work and effort; pride at having achieved so much after despairing; satisfaction; and serenity of spirit.

Positive emotions may also result from contentment and satisfaction in the present. Happiness coming from such emotions may be due to the satisfaction of bodily pleasures, such as enjoying the aroma and taste of food; the satisfaction of higher pleasures, such as watching an intellectually stimulating play; and gratifications, such as absorption in reading and study.

Last, positive emotions may also come from faith in the future. Happiness can arise from optimism and confidence, as well as hope and trust that tomorrow will come, and everything will set itself aright.

All these positives, however, still seem to speak in the abstract. After all, happiness is obviously the product of so many more things than personal gratification or awe; and one’s smile contains so many more emotions and faces than can be defined in a single moment. Besides, dogs like being patted and caressed, birds can sing and recognize each others’ tunes, and cats are actually smarter than they look. What sets our definition apart from those of animals?

With that in mind, do animals really feel happiness? According to experts, animals have little or none of the reasoning power of humans. What animals do have, however, are motivation and drive. For carnivores, this may be a successful hunt and fresh meat at the end of the day. For prey, this may be a successful hideout, and another escape from a hungry predator. For a dog with an itch, this may be a chance to scratch itself. That is, if an animal’s immediate needs are met, a goal is achieved, and an “animal happiness” ensues.

This, then, is what sets humans apart from animals: happiness in humans is not merely the achievement of goals, but the reveling and relishing of that achievement, and the optimism that comes with the reassurance that things can be better.

So, what is happiness?

Apparently, like most other emotions, what it is, and how you can achieve it, is up to you.

From time to time, people say things like “I am feeling old and rusty” or “my creative juices are running out.” While it is true that human beings are equipped with the most efficient and powerful computers in the form of their brains, it is also very true that at some point in life, people get worn out. Fortunately, that point in time when people feel out of form or out of practice can be easily surpassed and avoided with the use of creativity enhancement methods.

What is Creativity Enhancement?

When one feels burned out or used up, one might feel like being on a dead end. People do many things to get out of that dead end, such as taking vacations, going to spas, or enrolling in refresher courses. However, these methods, while possibly effective, do not target the problem directly, but rather just help people cope up with the other effects of their exhausted situation. Creativity enhancement programs are methods that directly target the problem by looking at its source to get specific solutions that will get a person back up and running. There are several techniques in creativity enhancement, all of them aimed at helping people get their creative juices flowing or preventing them from running out.

The Usual Strategy: Starting Early

The usual recipients of creativity enhancement are children. Parents are told to nurture and cultivate their child’s creativity and psychomotor skills as early as they can to ensure their bright future. Child development programs have continued to grow, activating the minds of the new generations, which are observed to be more articulate and active than children in the past.

Indeed, it is important to foster children’s creativity; however, children are not the only ones who need creativity boosters. The usual scenario is when they grow up; they are left by themselves as adults in the belief that they are already equipped with all they need. As grownups however, people also face situations when they need to refill their creativity tanks. In such cases, creativity enhancement methods play a crucial role to help people get back on track.

Popular Methods of Creativity Enhancement

The people today are lucky to have several creativity enhancement techniques available for their access. One usual way of enhancing creativity is by taking activities that utilize one’s ingenuity. These activities come in the form of hobbies that involve creating something such as handicraft, needlework, woodworking, painting, and the like. These activities are seen to activate areas of people’s minds that are not being used, making them explore their brains more.

Other creativity enhancement methods include workshops that explore different ways of expressing creativity. These workshops may even stimulate people’s sense of healthy competition by involving group activities such as games and contests. There are also creativity enhancement programs that involve exploring the subconscious through meditation and other psychological techniques. These help people examine their higher levels of thinking to unleash their powers.

Some creativity enhancement methods include software that entitles one to computer-based activities, which involve the use of creative thinking. There are various other techniques available, each one targeting certain aspects of creativity.

Where to Look for Creativity Enhancement

Several companies have creativity enhancement as their primary service or product. A lot of these firms have websites that can easily be searched online. The charges for such services vary greatly depending on the types of activities and materials they entail.

With creativity enhancement, people are given the hope of avoiding their brains from rotting and rusting. With creativity enhancement methods, burning out is easily combated.
