5 Things You Can do NOW to Stop Procrastinating
Are you having trouble following through and seeing your responsibilities through to completion? If you are a chronic procrastinator, there is hope for you. Here are five things you can do today to take action against procrastination in your life:
1. Do the worst thing first. Instead of putting off your to do list for today, start the day by completing the worst task first. You’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment that will propel you to finish the rest of your list.
2. Delegate a few tasks to someone else. This is one of the easiest ways you can combat procrastination. If you keep putting off the same task every week, see if you can give that task to someone else to complete.
3. Get organized. There’s nothing worse than needing something and not knowing where it’s at. And this only feeds into your procrastinating habits. Make it a goal to organize your desk, home, or whatever you need to so that you will stop procrastinating.
4. Create a self-imposed deadline. Deadlines make you feel the pressure. Even when it is self-imposed, just knowing that you have a specific day and time when the task is due will create a greater sense of importance.
5. Create a daily task list. Many times, just knowing what you need to do will get you off to a good start and motivated to continue on. Start by creating a daily task list of what needs to be done. Then take that list and break it down into three sections: morning, afternoon and evening.
